Le bureau national du Costa Rica soutient les efforts du gouvernement dans le cadre de son Plan national de développement et d’investissement public du bicentenaire pour faire avancer ses objectifs en matière de protection sociale, de développement économique à faible émission de carbone et de résilience environnementale.
Aperçu
Costa Rica joue un rôle clé en tant que membre fondateur de la BID. Chaque pays membre désigne un gouverneur pour le représenter au Conseil des gouverneurs.
Au siège de la BID à Washington, D.C., le Costa Rica partage un siège au conseil avec le Belize, El Salvador, le Guatemala, le Honduras et le Nicaragua, représentés collectivement par un directeur exécutif. Ce directeur est élu tous les trois ans par les gouverneurs de ces pays.

La stratégie nationale du Costa Rica 2024-2027 vise à renforcer les facteurs essentiels pour une croissance soutenue et un bien-être amélioré, en particulier parmi les populations vulnérables, et à positionner le Costa Rica comme un leader régional en matière de développement durable et de générateur de solutions, à travers trois piliers stratégiques:
- Infrastructures résilientes et action climatique: réduire le déficit d'investissement public et relever les défis climatiques.
- Environnement favorable au secteur privé: stimuler l'implication du secteur privé pour combler les écarts de développement.
- Protection du contrat social: renforcer les domaines critiques pour le progrès social, notamment l'éducation et la sécurité, et relever les défis posés par le vieillissement de la population.
