Apoyo a la eficiencia y digitalización del Sistema de Salud en Costa Rica

The general objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to strengthen the efficiency, sustainability and evidence-based decision-making capacity of the Costa Rican health system. Specifically, the CT aims to: (i) strengthen the national health data interoperability framework, optimizing existing digital products and co-designing a national interoperability model with clear governance arrangements and an implementation roadmap; (ii) generate technical evidence to identify, prioritize and analyze uses of health technologies that are candidates for divestment, quantifying the associated waste and potential fiscal savings, through the application of economic evaluation methodologies and utilization analysis; and (iii) support the design of innovative strategies that allow resources to be reallocated towards interventions of greater clinical, health and social value, thus strengthening the efficiency of public health spending.
