Au siège de la BID à Washington, D.C., le Nicaragua est représenté au Conseil d’administration. Cette position est partagée avec le Belize, le Costa Rica, le Salvador, le Guatemala et le Honduras. La présidence est assurée par un Directeur Exécutif élu pour un mandat de trois ans par les Gouverneurs de ces six pays.
