Summary of the Request

The Request describes a potential damage to the property and living conditions of the Requester derived from the expropriation of a commercial building for the construction of the Project.

The Requester, owner of the property, alleges that the appraisal would have been incorrect, the amount offered does not recognize the payment for lost profits for the rental of the spaces since the building is already unoccupied. Similarly, he warns that administrative and procedural impasses by the Executor have prevented the Requester from being duly compensated to date, despite having trained in conversations since 2018.

Recent actions

On August 23rd, 2022, the Request was not registered to allow the Requester to establish an initial contact with the Project Team (Management) through the following protocol: https://www.iadb.org/en/projects/grievances-portal. The Requester was notified of the possibility of resubmitting the Request to the MICI if their concerns have not been addressed within a reasonable period. The Parties were notified and the MICI process was concluded. 

It is important to note that the Notification of Non-Registration is not an assessment of the merits of the Request, or the issues presented in it. Nor is it a determination of compliance or non-compliance by the IDB of its Relevant Operational Policies.
