Adolfo Di Carluccio has spent almost his whole career at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Italy where in more than three decades of professional experience, has been tasked to lead several important projects of the Italian multilateral cooperation, including the G7 initiative on Advanced Market Commitment for the acceleration of the development of vaccines tailored to developing country needs, raising $ 1.5 bl, the Italian G7 Presidency- led-initiative for the development of "Principles for Effective IFI Coordination", endorsed by the G7 Finance Ministers at their meeting in Bari (May, 2017), the design and the implementation of the “Juncker Plan for Europe”, including the negotiations of the related EU regulation, the scouting of Italian PPP projects eligible to the Plan, and mobilization of national and European resources for their financing.
Prior to joining the IDB, he was Director for Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Italy and Deputy for Italy in IDA and Executive Director for Italy, Greece, Portugal and Austria at IFAD, where he also held the Chairpersonship of the Audit Committee.
In addition, he served as Senior advisor to the Italian Executive Director at the World Bank and held the position of Alternate Director for Italy at the Board of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in charge of providing oversight and strategic guidance on behalf of Italy to several EIB facilities co-financed by the Italian Government.
He has a Master of Art on Development Banking from the American University in Washington D.C. and a Post-graduate master in applied econometrics from the High School of Economy and Finance of Rome.
