Provision de viviendas de emergencia despues del temblor en Puerto Principe

The project will accomplish the following: Component 1: Emergency Shelter Construction. This component will finance the assembly of 150 specialized UTPMP emergency shelters to be erected in Grand Goave 70 km from Port-au-Prince Haiti; arrangements for delivery of dwellings at port and/or airport authorities; transportation arrangements for construction materials to the building sites; and the rental of a warehouse for storage of the shelter components. The wooden shelters will be house families with a maximum of six members and will be constructed taking into account the climate and the other disaster conditions on the ground currently in Haiti. And, as is the case with all UTPMP emergency shelters, the shelters will last approximately 7 - 10 years during which time UTPMP works on empowering families and on securing more permanent housing solutions. The emergency shelter belongs to the families and they sign an ownership agreement with UTPMP that states that the house will be exclusively for primary occupancy by the family and cannot be sold or rented. After 7 - 10 years, the house can no longer be used for shelter because the materials will have deteriorated. Usually the housing materials are recycled for other families that need them or the components can be disassembled and re-used by home owners once permanent shelter is secured. Shelter construction will be part of a larger construction effort for Haiti, led by the Multilateral Investment Fund at the IDB. This project will finance a portion of the emergency shelters envisioned in the FOMIN agreement with Un Techo para Mi País. Should design issues arise with the 150 shelters constructed under the present project, they will be examined and corrected as part of the larger FOMIN initiative.Visibility. This project will include financing for the construction of permanent signage acknowledging the donor¿s contribution to the construction and will finance the costs for material and labor required to construct signage to recognize the government of Korea¿s financial contribution to the construction. The donor contribution will also receive prominent placement in any UTPMP printed materials about the Haiti intervention, the UTPMP website, presentations, or conferences carried out during project implementation. UTPMP will execute this project component. The project will also finance a donor-led on-site monitoring and evaluation of the 150 emergency shelters constructed by UTPMP in Haiti to include the costs of air fare, lodging and per diem for a monitoring and evaluation expert. No daily consulting fees will be financed under the present project. The goal of the monitoring effort will be to assess the success of project implementation and results.
