The Knowledge for Results Initiative (K4R) by the Inter-American Development Bank focuses on enhancing institutional capacities within public administrations across Latin America and the Caribbean. Led by the Innovation for Citizen Services Division, K4R aims to address management challenges that impact the efficiency and transparency of public service delivery.
Through the various instruments of the initiative, management solutions are created and implemented through the exchange of knowledge and operational best practices between the public and private sectors.
K4R leads the synergy between its stakeholders — public service and companies — in shared public value projects that contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens in the region, while collaboratively learning and connecting with different sectors and industries from IDB member countries.

A4R is a results accelerator designed for the public sector that enables learning and applying a methodology for streamlining procedures or services through agile management solutions.
LC4R is a support center for public institutions to apply "lean" management techniques developed in pioneering countries like Japan, allowing the generation of real-time agile solutions.
Our K4R Platform is an open knowledge platform (under development) where successful evidence-based solutions can be found, experiences shared, and knowledge exchanged to solve common public and private management issues.
In 2019, Civil Aeronautics of Colombia and the National Cancer Institute (INC) in Bogotá joined forces to address cancer patient emergencies using aeronautical management techniques. This intervention, among other results, has reduced waiting times by 50% and improved the efficiency of emergency services by prioritizing critical cases.
