Water Security for the coastal area of the Department of Canelones

The objective of this TC is to develop studies to ensure the provision of potable water services with excellence and efficiency to 2045 on the Gold Coast, meeting the emerging needs of the expected population growth during that period. Within this framework, this TC will identify interventions to optimize the provision of services, which will positively impact the area in the short term. It's of fundamental importance to design a long-term Strategic Action Plan in view of the magnitude of the challenges that the supply of drinking water represents for the Balnearia de Canelones area and Uruguay. In this regard, the TC will support the preparation of studies of the Costa de Oro area on: system demand, alternatives for purification, studies to improve the efficiency of the supply system, basic studies for the dam, and preliminary projects of dam and purification plant, in accordance with technical guidelines that address prospective analysis of future scenarios, based on a correct diagnosis of the current status of the systems.
