The objective of this TC is to support the improvement of the efficiency and equity in the allocation of resources to the sector by studying the capacity of the ministries of education in the region to generate, consolidate and analyze periodic and reliable information on the resources allocated to education. Specifically, the aim is for countries to: (i) be able to monitor educational spending at both the macro and micro levels (such as cost centers per school), (ii) have analyses on sectoral financing, the efficiency of educational spending, its impact on equity and the possibility of generating savings from a better allocation of resources, (iii) have diagnoses on their capacity for the management and production and analysis of information in a comprehensive manner in the ministries of education.
