The objective of the TC is to improve the capacity of the participating countries to fully operationalize and sustain the implementation of the Tourism Health Information, Monitoring and Response System (THMRS) through: (i) development and implementation of a Caribbean regional policy and national policies in each participating country to mandate the reporting of tourism illnesses in the regional Tourism Health Information Surveillance System (THiS); (ii) elaboration of a comprehensive THRMS operations manual; (iii) design/roll out of Caribbean specific Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards; (iv) establishment of a "Healthier and Safer Destination Assured" Accreditation scheme; and (v) creation of sustainable funding mechanism for the THMRS.
