Program to Improve the Pension System in Mexico

The general objective of the program is to reduce the economic vulnerability of older adults in Mexico. The specific objectives are: (i) to improve the coverage and benefits of the Non-Contributory Pension system (PNC); and (ii) improve the coverage, sufficiency, and equity of the benefits obtained by the Contributory Pension (PC) systems. It seeks to meet these objectives through an expansion and increase of the PNC, parametric improvements of the PCs, and improvements in the design and coordination of subnational systems.
