The program's objective is to support improvements in Honduras's logistics performance through regulatory, institutional, planning, and trade facilitation reforms in the sector, with a view to boosting competitiveness and regional integration. The specific objectives are to: (i) develop a regulatory framework with specific rules aimed at improving freight logistics services as part of a long-term vision; (ii) strengthen the institutional framework for the logistics sector by creating the National Logistics Council and a technical entity; (iii) improve integrated planning in the sector and delivery of the associated services; and (iv) modernize and simplify trade facilitation processes and technological systems.This loan is the first in a series of three operations that are technically linked but financed separately as programmatic policy-based loan operations (document CS-3633-2).
