Guyana Utility Scale Solar Photovoltaic Program (Guysol)
The general objective of the program is to support the diversification of Guyana's energymatrix towards the use of climate-resilient renewable energy sources in the electricity generation matrix. The specificobjectives of the program are to: (i) avoid CO2 emissions with the development of solar Photovoltaic (PV) generationplants; (ii) lower the cost of electricity generation while supporting the country´s transition towards renewable energybasedgeneration; and (iii) improve the operation and management of the isolated systems of Essequibo and Linden anddevelop local skills for services related to solar PV generation systems.
