The general objective is to continue the progressive transition of the country towards zero net Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, benefiting the entire population through reforms to: (i) strengthen the management and monitoring of climate action in CR ; (ii) conservation and restoration of ecosystems with high GHG sequestration and the substitution of emitting agricultural practices for GHG fixers (contribute to the increase in forest cover in the country, the preservation of wetlands and marine areas, and the increase in proportion of agricultural production generated through low-carbon or carbon-fixing practices); (iii) encouragement of the use of electric power and active mobility (align electricity rates with the objectives of electrification of energy use and enable the electrification of the vehicle fleet); and (iv) the promotion of inclusion and gender equality in the National Decarbonization Plan. Under these subsectors, the necessary policy reforms will be supported for the implementation of the National Decarbonization Plan (PD).
