EC-T1375 : Kara Solar: Solar-Powered River Transportation in Achuar Territory

The goal of the project is to create a sustainable, financially stable, innovative solar-powered river transport enterprise owned and operated by the Achuar communities in the Amazon. To achieve this goal it is essential to build a fully functioning solar-powered river transport system with recharge stations. By advancing and consolidating our experiences in the creation of a resilient social enterprise, we will be able to ensure that the physical infrastructure is accompanied by appropriate community skill development and know-how. The community will be trained to manage the company and will possess the ownership of all infrastructure.
