CR-T1216 : Support to the National Cluster Policy in Costa Rica for Competitiviness

Support the Government of Costa Rica in strengthening and consolidating the capacities of the Technical Secretariat of the Territorial Development Council as an advisory body, monitoring and evaluation of the National Cluster Policy (PNC), this in order to promote innovation and improving the productivity of companies participating in the value chains of prioritized clusters. The specific objectives are (i) to support the Technical Secretariat in promoting and supporting the articulation of cluster initiatives in sectors with technological potential, innovation, high added value and employment for the correct coordination of the efforts of the public and private sectors. and academia in each cluster and its proper governance; (ii) collaborate in the consolidation of an institutional architecture that allows for the continuity of the coordination of cluster initiatives to support the efforts of the private sector in its training and development, as well as to develop a system for measuring, monitoring and evaluating development and impact of clusters on the country's economy; and (iii) sensitize and articulate actors from the public, private and academic sectors about the opportunities offered by being part of the PNC.
