Dominican Republic and Mexico
Alejandro Gaytán González is the Executive Director for Mexico and Dominican Republic at the IDB. Before joining the IDB he was Chief Economist at the Mexican Ministry of Finance. Dr. Gaytán also worked at Banco de México for 29 years, where he served as an economist, economic researcher, Manager of Macrofinancial Analysis, Director of Macroeconomic Analysis, and Director of Financial Information.
Alejandro Gaytán holds a Ph.D. in economics from New York University, a M.Sc. in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a B.A. in economics from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.
