Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago
Mr. Quinton C. Lightbourne, originally from Nassau, Bahamas, serves as the Alternate Executive Director for the Caribbean Constituency on the Board of Directors of the IDB, IDB Invest, and IDB Lab. From 2021 to 2024, Mr. Lightbourne served as a Senator and Chairman of The Bahamas Development Bank, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership. His strategic negotiations led to the largest capitalization in the bank's fifty-year history with the African Export-Import Bank.
Mr. Lightbourne has diverse experiences from the public and private sectors, including roles as an Operations & Funds Analyst at Credit Suisse AG, Nassau Branch, and as an Investment Officer at The Bahamas Investment Authority in the Office of the Prime Minister.
His academic achievements further support his successful track record. Mr. Lightbourne holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Accounting (Hons) from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Financial Planner, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, and has earned a Certificate in International Trade Policy and Competition Law from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.
He has published research and opinion columns in newspapers in The Bahamas. Mr. Lightbourne is also an active advocate for renewable energy within the Caribbean region.
