SU-L1066 : Fiscal Sustainability Program for Economic Development II

The general objective of the program is to support the authorities' efforts to achieve a sustainable fiscal path and higher economic growth. This will be done through: (i) strengthening the tax system through the introduction of the VAT and the reduction of tax distortions which hinder private investment, employment and competitiveness; (ii) enhancing the programming and execution of budgetary expenditure; (iii) improving the macro-fiscal institutional and policy framework; and (iv) strengthening the fiscal framework of State-Owned Enterprises.
