Cezar Santos es Economista Investigador Senior en el Departamento de Investigación del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo. Su investigación se centra en el desarrollo macroeconómico, con énfasis en los mercados laborales, los mercados de crédito, la economía familiar, el cambio climático y las enfermedades infecciosas. Sus trabajos han aparecido en revistas académicas como Econometrica, AEJ: Macro, Journal of Development Economics y Economic Journal, entre otras. Antes de incorporarse al Banco, fue profesor asociado de Economía en la Fundación Getulio Vargas (FGV EPGE) y economista investigador en el Banco de Portugal. Anteriormente, fue profesor adjunto en la Universidad de Mannheim. Realizó sus estudios de licenciatura en Economía en la Universidad Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), su máster en la FGV EPGE y obtuvo un doctorado en Economía en la Universidad de Pensilvania.
