Course on impact evaluation in practice: productive sectors

The course on impact evaluation in practice* (CEIP) looks to train sectorial specialists that work in the design and execution of productive development projects. At the end of the course, participants will be able to conduct impact evaluations and to understand the process of designing and implementing surveys for these evaluations.

Where: Santiago de Chile, Chile

When: September 25th to October 3rd 2014

Schedule: Classes will be taught from Thursday September 25th to Friday October 3rd. Sunday September 28th will be rest day. For more information, please check the agenda (available only in Spanish).

Where: Centro de Extensión de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile en Santiago.

Participants: Between 100 and 120 participants from the entire region.

Costs:The course does not have any registration cost and includes lunches. Participants are responsible for transportation costs, lodging, breakfast, and dinner.

The course will combine theory and practice sessions, together with sessions with experts. Participants will learn about impact evaluation methods and sampling, design of impact evaluations, data analysis, design of questionnaires, and field work implementation, among others.

In the theory sessions on impact evaluation methods two “tracks” will be offered. One intuitive and the other one analytical, for which basic knowledge about econometrics and statistics is required.

In the practice sessions participants will work on the preparation of evaluation plans for projects on which participants are involved.

In the sessions with experts examples will be presented that will allow sharing lessons learned, innovative applications and the most recent methodological advances.
