Eight Projects Selected for the MAP Line
The MAP program will support three activities and five research projects as the winners of the MAP First Call for Proposals. This thrid call focused on Business, Regulation and Informality.
The selected projects aim to improve policies and programs that bring informal companies - particularly micro, small and medium-sized businesses – into the formal economy. They also evaluate the intervention’s impact, providing feedback to improve the efficiency of programs and policies that support formalization. The projects focus on evaluating the impact of policies aimed at simplifying red tape, fiscal systems and measures to encourage businesses to enter the formal sector and boost productivity. Using well-developed methodologies and field data , the research will yield lessons on how to create policies that will impact informality and development.
