Tristany Armangué i Jubert

Tristany Armangué is a Research Fellow in the Research Department at the Inter-American Development Bank. His work is focused on fiscal and monetary policy in developing economies and their effects on the income and wealth distributions. Tristany holds a Master's Degree in Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Exeter.

Juanita Camacho Muñoz

Juanita Camacho Muñoz is a research assistant in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. Her work focuses on development and education issues, such as peer effects. A native of Colombia, she holds a master's and a bachelor's degree in economics from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá.

Patricio Cea Charbin

Patricio Cea Charbin is a Macroeconomic Consultant in the Research Department of the IADB. His work focuses in understanding the determinants of Sudden Stops in capital flows and researching about prudential policies to prevent them in emerging economies. Previously, he has done applied research regarding productive diversification in developing countries and how informal institutions affect economic growth and the way they affect different economic outcomes. Patricio holds a Master’s degree in Economic Analysis from University of Chile and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the same university. Patricio also was a Trans-Pacific Human Capital Development Program Fellow at University of Tsukuba, a program financed by the State of Japan.

Jessica Gagete-Miranda

Jessica Gagete-Miranda is a Research Fellow in the Research Department at the Inter-American Development Bank. She works on projects related to labor, health, and education. She is a PhD candidate in Public Policy and Administration at Bocconi University. Jessica has a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Sao Paulo, in Brazil, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the same university.

Laura Gomez Acevedo

Laura Gomez Acevedo works with Eduardo Cavallo in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. His work focuses on the analysis of the behavior of capital flows in contexts of sudden stops. He has also worked studying the economic and fiscal impact of natural disasters. Previously Laura worked as a research assistant at CEDE. Laura has a Master's Degree in economics from los Andes University.

María José González Jaramillo

María José González Jaramillo is a research assistant in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. Her work focuses on understanding informality and taxes. She also has worked in other macroeconomics topics and modelings, such as fiscal policy, debt, and computable general equilibrium models. María José holds a master's and a bachelor's degree in economics from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.

Nicolas Herrera L.

Nicolas Herrera L. is a Research Fellow of the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. His interest focus on the use of Data Science methods to improve the effectiveness of public policies related to labor markets, education, poverty reduction, transportation, and environment. Nicolas has a double degree in economics from the Universidad del Rosario in Colombia and the University of Toulouse in France. Additionally, he has a master's degree in Public Policy and Development from the Paris School of Economics. He has previously worked for the Ministry of Finance, the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation of Colombia, and as a research assistant at the Paris School of Economics.

Alejandro Herrera Jiménez

Alejandro Herrera Jiménez is a Research Fellow in the Research Department at the Inter-American Development Bank. His research interests focus on education, financial inclusion, and labor markets. He holds a MSc in economics and finance from Barcelona Graduate School of Economics - Universitat Pompeu Fabra, a MSc degree, and a degree in economics from the Universidad Catolica Boliviana. He was a junior researcher at the Institute for Socio-economic Research (IISEC) and at the Institute for Advanced Development Studies (INESAD), both in Bolivia. Alejandro has publications on education, development, and labor markets, available at https://ideas.repec.org/f/phe557.html. In 2015, he won the national prize for the best undergrad research in economics from the Central Bank of Bolivia.

María Paula Medina Pulido

María Paula Medina Pulido is a Research Fellow in the Research Department at the Inter-American Development Bank. Her research interest are development economics, gender, and environmental economics. She holds a master's degree in Economics and a dual bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance and International Trade from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia.

Guadalupe Montenegro Muro

Guadalupe Montenegro is a Research Fellow in in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Her interests are focused on human capital development and impact evaluation, currently her work is related to inequality and the labor market. She has a master's degree in Economics and Finance from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics- Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain and a degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacifico (Lima, Peru). Of Peruvian nationality, she has experience as a research assistant at the research center of the Universidad del Pacífico and GRADE, as well as experience in impact evaluation and public policy at the Ministry of Education and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Peru.

Sergio Perilla

Sergio Perilla is a Research Fellow in the Research Department at the Inter-American Development Bank. His research work focuses on applied micro, political economics, and public economics. The projects where he works analyze how the credibility of politicians affect voters’ behavior and the spending composition in developing countries. Also, he studies how trust within the bureaucracies affects the policy implementation in Latin American countries. Previously, he worked as a research assistant at Universidad del Rosario, Colombia, and MOTU Economic and Public Policy Research, New Zealand. He used to work on development topics. He helped to construct a model able to predict mining activity, using machine learning algorithms and satellite imagery. Sergio received his master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad del Rosario, Colombia.

Xiomara Pulido

Xiomara Pulido is a Research Fellow in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. Her work focuses on the analysis and impact evaluation of public policies, especially those related to educational programs. She has also worked on fields such as the analysis of youth employment trajectories, economic models of natural resources, and, more recently, on the mobility of people in times of crisis. Xiomara is an economist and holds a master's degree in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes.

Juan Martín Rinaldi

Juan Martín Rinaldi is a Senior Macro Analyst in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). He works on debt and external sustainability analysis for LATAM & Caribbean and is involved in several research projects involving external crises dynamics and financial economics. Juan Martín holds a Master's degree in Finance from the Torcuato Di Tella University and he is a Specialist in Credit Risk Models (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba). He's Argentinean and Italian and has experience in private sector positions as a quantitative trader both in Europe and Argentina, public sector as a congressional advisor and in education as both, research assistant and teacher assistant.

Salim Syed Chanto

Salim Syed Chanto is a Research Fellow at the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. His work is focused on international economics, growth and firm dynamics. Salim holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota; a Master’s deegre in Economic Theory from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM); and, a Bachelor’s degree from the Universidad de Costa Rica.

Camila Valencia Rodríguez

Camila Valencia Rodríguez is a research fellow in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. Her work is focused on international trade, productive development policies and political economy in Latin American countries. A native from Colombia, she holds a master's degree in Economics of Public Policies, a bachelor's degree in Economics and a bachelor's degree in Finance and International Trade from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá.

Joanna Berenice Valle Luna

Joanna Valle is a Research Consultant in the Research Department at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). Her work focuses on applied microeconomics as well as political economy issues; mostly researching about trust in the region and how it affects economic development. Before joining the IADB, she worked for the World Bank providing impact evaluation support in Ethiopia. Also, she was an advisor at the Mexican Ministry of Economy. She is native from Mexico and holds a Master in International Affairs from UCSD and a Bachelors Degree from the National University in Mexico. (UNAM)

Andrea Alexandra Vilchez Espejo

Andrea Vilchez Espejo is a Research Fellow in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank. Her work focuses on issues in international economics, monetary policy, and productivity. Previously, she has worked in the Macroeconomics and Public Policies area of the Research Center of the Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Perú), in the Ministry of Education and in the Ministry of Production of Perú. Of Peruvian nationality, she has a master’s degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacífico, and a bachelor's Degree in Economics, with a double concentration in Economic Theory, and Economics for the Public Sector, from the same university.
