The Electronic Government Network of Latin America and the Caribbean, Red GEALC, brings together the digital government authorities of the countries of the region. This transforms the Network into a unique regional instrument to promote horizontal cooperation, support the implementation of citizen-centered digital government policies, the training of public officials, key aspects of the construction of a digital transformation, and the exchange of experiences and solutions among countries of the region.
The general objetive of the GEALC Network is to support digital government policies that locate the citizen, particularly the most vulnerable populations, at the center. Along these lines, a space is provided for the authorities of the countries and experts in digital government of the region to share their experiences and knowledge, in addition to having distinguished guests and speakers from other continents. The objective of the Network is to raise awareness, strengthen collaboration ties and jointly discuss the challenges that arise while implementing public policies on digital government.
The Ministerial Meeting, which takes place every two years, brings together Ministers and Directors of Digital Government of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. This present an ideal environment to establish joint actions between the countries of the Network, promote horizontal cooperation and discuss directions and trends of digital government and digital transformation in the public sector, both, regionally as well as good practices worldwide.
