COUNTRIES THAT HAVE ALREADY IMPLEMENTED THE INVESTMENTMAP INITIATIVE

 PARAGUAY

MapaInversiones Paraguay (Rindiendo Cuentas) shows public investment data provided by the National Public Investment System (SNIP). This is the first platform that incorporates a module on resources that are allocated by the government under the COVID-19 health emergency. This new module was launched in May of 2020 and allows users to view specific emergency response programs, investment projects, subsidies and cash transfer schemes.

 

 ARGENTINA

MapaInversiones Argentina visualizes and maps public investment projects. Thanks to the platform, citizens can monitor in real time where and how the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) invests. The platform also integrates a module with information on public investments made to address the COVID-19 emergency.

 JAMAICA

Jamaica

 


Jamaica InvestmentMap was launched in November of 2020. The platform helps Jamaica meet commitments made under various international transparency initiatives. It allows citizens to search for projects by sector, location and other key criteria, showing, for each public investment project, budget, progress, pictures, and other key data. A citizen participation module allows citizens to provide feedback on projects of interest. Jamaica was the first country in the CARICOM area to implement InvestmentMap.

 

dominican republicDOMINICAN REPUBLIC

InvestmentMap Dominican Republic was launched in December 2019 in coordination with the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD). The platform seeks to promote transparency and improve the efficiency of national public investment. It allows users to monitor and view public investment projects in real time in an easy, user-friendly and secure way. Under development is the COVID-19 Module, which integrates and displays the information available on public resources associated with the management of the COVID-19 emergency, including information from the Ministry of Finance and the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP).

 PERU

MapaInversiones desde el Territorio was launched in Peru in 2018 and seeks to promote transparency and improve the efficiency of public resources that are transferred and administered by regional and local governments. MapaInversiones Perú País MInero was launched in July 2020 in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM). The platform allows users to locate and visualize, for each of the country’s  regions, data on mining production, employment generated by the project, royalties and tax transfers, public investment projects financed through mining resources and their progress, among other categories of information.

 COSTA RICA


Rendir Cuentas Costa Rica was launched in 2018 thanks to a joint effort by the Office of the President and three ministries. The platform shows all public investments in the country, based on information provided by the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Policy (MIDEPLAN). Through this initiative, Costa Rica seeks to improve transparency and provide key information to citizens. Under development is the COVID-19 Module, which integrates and displays information available public resources associated with the management of the COVID-19 emergency.

 

 

 COLOMBIA


The Government of Colombia and the IDB designed and built the MapaRegalías platform in 2013. MapaRegalías shows in a map-based format public investment projects financed through oil and mining royalties. This project has been crucial to the country's transparency agenda and is a powerful management tool for public officials. This platform has been scaled to MapaInversiones Colombia , which includes all public investment in the country.

ECUADOR

Ecuador joined the initiative in 2020 to develop, initially, a module that integrates and displays information on public spending for the COVID-19 pandemic. In a second phase, information on public works will be incorporated.

 

HONDURAS

Honduras joined the initiative in 2020 to develop, initially, a module that integrates and displays information on public spending for the COVID-19 pandemic. In a second phase, information on public works will be incorporated.

 

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Trinidad and Tobago joined the MapaInversiones initiative to strengthen the commitment to transparency in the management of public investments. The platform is expected to be operational in 2021.

 

 

BAHAMAS

Bahamas seeks to make its budget information transparent, within the framework of the activities of the IDB program BH-L1045. Thanks to InvestmentMap, citizens will have access to reliable and timely data about the budget in an intuitive format.
