International Seminar on Long-term Care
OVERVIEW: Dependency in Uruguay and Latin America, international experiences of services for people who are in this situation and the quality of care policies, are the topics addressed in this seminar.
During the day the panorama of aging in Latin America and the demographic dynamics of Uruguay was analyzed. In addition, experiences of day centers and home support services for people in situations of dependency were shared. Quality management models were also presented and the relationship between human rights, quality of life and person-centered care was discussed. Finally, the issue of financing was addressed as a challenge for the sustainability of care policies.
