Stephany Maqueda Gassós
Stephany Maqueda, a Mexican national, has 10+ years of experience in different roles within international organizations, think tanks, and the Mexican government, working in social and economic development mainly in LAC. Her main areas of expertise include Mex-US migration, social protection, education, early childhood development, and public health. Ms. Maqueda joined OVE in 2017 and since then she has participated in several evaluations of strategies, country programs, the development effectiveness of IDB Group’s projects, and institutional internal processes. Previously, she worked on academic research regarding the impact of poverty alleviation programs for the Mexican elderly for RAND Corporation, and a program aiming to increase youth motivation to pursue STEM careers in Chile for J-PAL. She also served as advisor to the Chief Economist at the Mexican Ministry of Finance. She holds both bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, and a master’s in public policy from the University of Chicago.
