MICI resumes face-to-face activities to promote access in the region

In June this year, MICI resumed face-to-face activities to promote access in the region for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. The Mechanism held six days of meetings with different actors in Peru and Ecuador.

MICI organized meetings with civil society organizations and other strategic audiences, such as academia, implementing agencies, the private sector, and experts in conflict resolution and compliance verification processes.

Through these activities, the Mechanism seeks to strengthen knowledge about MICI and the IDB Group's responsibility, as well as to reduce barriers that communities may face when they need to turn to MICI for solutions to environmental and social issues that may arise within the framework of activities financed by the IDB Group in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In Peru, MICI promoted activities in the capital, Lima, between June 21 and 23. See a summary of the activities and the testimony of MICI Director Andrea Repetto in the video below, available in Spanish:

In Ecuador, in addition to the activities carried out in the capital, Quito, the MICI team traveled to Tena, in the Amazon region, to hold a workshop with local civil society organizations. See photos of the activities carried out in Ecuador between June 26 and 28:
