MICI begins to implement the Action Plan derived from the evaluation of OVE
MICI has begun to implement a total of 17 actions to respond to the recommendations made by the Office of Evaluation and Oversight in its second evaluation of the Mechanism. These measures are part of the Action Plan, prepared by MICI and approved by the IDB Board of Executive Directors, which will be progressively implemented until 2025.

Some of the especially important actions for case management have already been activated since last July. These include the modification of the eligibility requirements for new complaints to repeal the legal exclusion, as proposed in recommendation number 2. Also, in compliance with OVE's fourth recommendation, the recent investigation into the San Mateo and San Andrés Hydroelectric Projects in Guatemala requested social and environmental responsibility measures to be adopted, in the event that IDB Invest decided to withdraw from these projects. In addition, in response to the first recommendation, MICI is sharing its experience with the IDB and IDB Invest Managements for the implementation of their respective complaint management systems.
The Mechanism held several meetings, both with Civil Society Organizations in the region, and with key actors within the IDB Group, to publicize the results of OVE’s evaluation. Once MICI’s Action Plan was approved, the Mechanism also participated together with the Office of Evaluation and Oversight in internal and external meetings to publicize the central points of this Action Plan and the methodology that OVE will use to monitor its implementation.
