Renewal of MICI’s Facilitation Expert Roster

MICI has renewed its Consultation Phase’s Roster of experts until November of 2024. In accordance with the Terms of Reference of the request for applications and selection of members for the Roster in May of 2018, the facilitation, mediation, and controversy resolution experts that make up the team to work with MICI in its dispute resolution phase, were named for a period of 3 years, which can be renewed once for a period of equal duration.

Due to the multiple travel restrictions imposed to contain the effects of COVID 19, MICI is not currently carrying out missions to the countries where the projects financed by the IDB Group are implemented. For this reason, the dialogue, mediation, and facilitation processes promoted by the Mechanism in its consultation phase are mainly taking place virtually, with limited field activities performed by claimants and executing agencies, within the terms provided in MICI policies.

This renewal does not prevent the Mechanism from working with additional external experts in cases where their services are exceptionally required; as established in the MICI policy, and in observance of the politics and proceedings of the Bank.

The current roster of experts is composed of practitioners and experts from 13 countries including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Venezuela, the United States, Ecuador, and Japan.
