MICI met with Argentinian conflict resolution experts during its recent visit to the city of Buenos Aires
Monday September 24th, 2018, Buenos Aires, Argentina. As part of MICI´s mandate to promote access to the non-judicial complaint process provided by the Mechanism, MICI’s director Victoria Márquez-Mees alongside Gastón Aín and Martin Packmann, held a working breakfast with conflict resolution experts from federal and local governmental institutions, academia and civil society organizations.
A round table of highly respected experts, that included Germán Emanuele, Leandro García Silva, Jimena Psathakis, Ana Bourse, Alejandro Nató, Raquel Munt, Lucila Taboada, Juan Pablo Más Vélez, Francisco Diez, Graciela Tapia, Pablo Lumerman, Bautista Logioco, Dolores Ayerdi, Sol Gorlero, Patricia Aréchaga, Eliana Spadoni, Gustavo Skaf, and Nicolás de Stefano, discussed issues of mediation, conflict resolution in relation to infrastructure projects and how to promote greater awareness of non-judicial remedy alternatives in the case of Argentina.
The meeting was organized in the context of the XIV World Congress of Mediation and Culture of Peace which took place from September 17th to 22th, 2018, in which Gastón Aín, Dispute Resolution Coordinator for MICI, participated in the closing panel.
