The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the largest source of multilateral financing for Latin America and the Caribbean, has launched a broad public consultation on the draft of its Integrated Strategy for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, and Sustainable and Renewable Energy. This public consultation includes a 90-day online forum in addition to meetings with representatives of civil society, including non-governmental organizations across the region and in Washington DC. The consultation is a critical step toward the adoption of a new climate change strategy.
IDB establishes the First Panel of Experts of Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (ICIM)

The Inter-American Development Bank has appointed five independent experts to the Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (ICIM). The panelists will verify the Bank is complying with its commitments and its operational policies. The appointment complements the nomination in September of Isabel Lavadenz-Paccieri as Project Ombudsperson of the ICIM.

The Report on the Ninth General Increase in the Resources of the Inter-American Development Bank establishes the IDB’s strategic priorities, institutional reforms and accountability for results related to the Bank’s capital increase. The report also details the financial terms and conditions to implement the general capital increase.

Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno made the following announcement to IDB staff today I would like to inform you that Mr. Daniel Zelikow has tendered his resignation from his position as Executive Vice President of the Bank and informed the Board of Executive Directors in that regard today. I have asked Julie T. Katzman to serve as interim Executive Vice President while we work to fill the position on a permanent basis. Ms. Katzman will continue to fulfill her duties as General Manager of the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF).
