Members of international community discuss collaboration in support of Venezuela

Representatives of cooperation agencies, along with directors and counselors of the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) member countries, met this morning with the Bank's administration at the institution's headquarters to discuss possible areas of collaboration in support of Venezuela. During the meeting, IDB specialists presented an analysis of the macroeconomic outlook and the main development challenges facing Venezuela.

IDB launches Superheroes of Development contest to recognize executing agencies

In its second edition, the call for proposals will be open from March 4th to May 17th, 2019. The Superheroes of Development Award will recognize executing agencies of IDB-financed projects that have successfully addressed challenges during its implementation. The contest will identify eight finalists from across Latin America and the Caribbean who will travel to IDB’s Headquarters in Washington, D.C. to present their solutions.

IDB and CDB to expand the Sustainable Energy Facility (SEF) for the Eastern Caribbean

US$ 85.6 million programme will fund geothermal power and institutional capacity projects in five Eastern Caribbean nations The Sustainable Energy Facility for the Eastern Caribbean (SEF-Expanded) is designed to reduce the financial, technical, and institutional barriers to geothermal energy development in five Eastern Caribbean nations.  It will also aid in institutional strengthening and capacity building for those five governments and in partnering with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).

IDB to join new Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator to facilitate $1bn of investments

Second and last day of official sessions of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank, at the Plaza Mayor Convention Center. Representatives of the 48 member-countries are discussing during the two-day meeting the economic situation of Latin America and the Caribbean and ways the IDB can increase support to the region.
