Mayors from Latin America and the Caribbean to Seek New Financing Sources for Cities

Approximately 40 mayors from Latin America and the Caribbean will attend the 2023 Mayors Forum, organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Cities Network, on April 26 in Denver, USA. The theme of the forum is Financing the Sustainable Development of Cities in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a focus on how local governments can diversify their financing sources.

New Toolkit to Boost Value Added Taxes on E-commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean

The surge in e-commerce following the COVID-19 outbreak has emphasised the importance of applying Value Added Tax (VAT) effectively to digital trade.  A new toolkit released today offers timely and valuable assistance to tax authorities in the Latin America and the Caribbean region for the effective collection of VAT revenues from e-commerce activities.

IDB launches Central American motion picture cycle as part of AFI Latin American Film Fest

The event, Central Film Fest: Central America + Dominican Republic, will be held in Washington, D.C. to promote and expand the visibility of the regional filmmaking industry’s talent and potential. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in partnership with the AFI 2018 Latin American Film Festival, will hold the Central Film Fest: Central America + Dominican Republic event in Washington, D.C., from Sept. 6 through Oct. 11.

IDB launches 2017 Call for Proposals to promote Regional Public Goods in Latin America and the Caribbean

The deadline for accepting proposals is April 26th, 2017 The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launched the 2017 Call for Proposals of the Initiative for the Promotion of Regional Public Goods in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), which supports projects aimed at resolving shared challenges and seizing opportunities for development through regional cooperation among at least three countries. Since 2004, the RPG Initiative has financed 140 projects, investing a total of more than US$103 million.
