(Postpones presentation by William Bratton) The Inter-American Development Bank is holding a Citizen Security Discussion Week on Crime and Violence in Latin America and the Caribbean on Nov. 16-18, at its headquarters in Washington DC. Events will focus on criminal justice, and violence against women. They will help bring a deeper understanding of how to bring better violence prevention to a region marked by the highest crime rates in the world. They are open to the public and to the media.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is calling on artists to present cartoons to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day on Dec. 9, using humor and satire to promote a deeper awareness and understanding of a phenomenon that harms development. The contest, “For a region with greater integrity and transparency: the image of the fight against corruption,” is open to artists from Latin America and the Caribbean countries. A Jury will select one cartoon as the winner from ten finalists. They will also select two honorable mentions.
