Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno made the following announcement to IDB staff today I would like to inform you that Mr. Daniel Zelikow has tendered his resignation from his position as Executive Vice President of the Bank and informed the Board of Executive Directors in that regard today. I have asked Julie T. Katzman to serve as interim Executive Vice President while we work to fill the position on a permanent basis. Ms. Katzman will continue to fulfill her duties as General Manager of the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF).

The Inter-American Development Bank will hold its annual Business Seminar on Financing Public and Private Infrastructure Projects in Latin America and the Caribbean on April 19 and 20 at its Washington, D.C. headquarters. In line with IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno’s emphasis on promoting the development of renewable energy sources in the region, particularly biofuels, the seminar will highlight the Bank’s activities in this sector. Experts will also discuss the IDB’s Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Initiative (SECCI), as well as carbon finance and energy conservation.

Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno yesterday called on the local private and public sectors to work together on community-based initiatives aimed at improving the education, health and economic development of the Latino community. Moreno was the keynote speaker at the kick-off event of the Latino Federation of Greater Washington, an initiative of the Council of Latino Agencies (CLA) that seeks to expand Latino leadership and participation in organized philanthropy in the Washington DC area.
