The Government of the France will contribute €24 million to the Natural Capital Lab of the Inter-American Development Bank, becoming its founding donor. France´s Secretary of State to the Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Brune Poirson, and IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno today signed the establishment of the initiative on the sidelines of Chile COP25 in Madrid, Spain.

Ecuador is the first country to receive funds from the IDB's new Migration Initiative to support countries that take in migrants Ecuador will strengthen its social services in the areas of health, education and social protection for at-risk communities in several high-priority cities following approval of an Inter-American Development Bank project. It is the first operation approved under a new modality that includes grant money to help cities that take in migrants.

Today, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), together with 22 partners from the public and private sector, announced the launch of a 21st century skills coalition that will support the implementation of a new generation of education and training policies in Latin America and the Caribbean. In its second edition, the call for proposals will be open from March 4th to May 17th, 2019. The Superheroes of Development Award will recognize executing agencies of IDB-financed projects that have successfully addressed challenges during its implementation. The contest will identify eight finalists from across Latin America and the Caribbean who will travel to IDB’s Headquarters in Washington, D.C. to present their solutions.
