IDB announces innovative solution to address ocean plastic pollution in Haiti

IDB Lab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, will support Environmental Cleaning Solutions S.A. (ECSSA) capacity to recycle plastic in Haiti.   Haiti is considered one of the countries with the greatest risk of plastic entering the ocean.  The country generates a large volume of plastic waste in urban areas due to high consumption of treated water, soft drinks, and take away meals sold in plastic containers.

The Rethink Plastics Challenge offers the selected solutions prizes totaling 60,000 USD.

Costa Rica to improve roads and ease traffic flow with IDB support

A line of credit of $350 million will finance investments in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Costa Rica so as to improve urban transport  The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will offer Costa Rica a long-term line of financing for investment in sustainable projects to improve and expand parts of its Strategic Road Network, specifically to enhance development and the flow of traffic in the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM). 

MDBs pledge to raise climate finance to US$175 billion annually by 2025
