IDB Lab, the IDB's innovation laboratory, has announced the two proposals selected to implement the best and most innovative Ready-to-Work Bootcamp models aimed at closing the skills gap of our future workforce in Latin America and the Caribbean, especially of people in vulnerable circumstances.

In its second edition, the call for proposals will be open from March 4th to May 17th, 2019. The Superheroes of Development Award will recognize executing agencies of IDB-financed projects that have successfully addressed challenges during its implementation. The contest will identify eight finalists from across Latin America and the Caribbean who will travel to IDB’s Headquarters in Washington, D.C. to present their solutions.

Higher incomes in Asia, particularly India and China, are opening opportunities for the region’s goods and services, especially high-quality ones: from natural and unique grass fed beef, renowned wines, and specialized coffees to the high-quality services of architects and engineers, Moreno said.

On October 28, 2010, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) signed an amendment to the lending operation whereby the IIC was granted special pricing and the extension to the disbursement period of the $300 million Multisector Credit Program until November 20, 2015, was officially disclosed. The IIC has used $100 million under the facility, which was approved in 1996. Amounts used under the facility mature 15 years after disbursement.
