IDB and Switzerland Partner to Address Migration Challenges in Colombia

Switzerland Contributes $7.5 Million to the IDB’s Migration Initiative During the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Government of Switzerland announced a contribution of up to $7.5 million to the IDB’s Migration Initiative to help address the development challenges posed by sudden and large migration inflows in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Italy to contribute to IDB Transparency Fund

Italy is joining Norway, Canada and MasterCard as a partner and contributor to the Inter-American Development Bank’s Transparency Fund , a vital tool to help countries strengthen their anti-corruption and pro-transparency reforms. The government of Italy has donated €1 million.

Representatives of the 48 member-countries are discussing during the two-day meeting the economic situation of Latin America and the Caribbean and ways the IDB can increase support to the region. IDB to start reviews for capital increases, boosting financing in short-term

MEDELLÍN, Colombia – The Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) today instructed the Bank’s management to “start immediately” to review the need for an increase in its ordinary capital, which currently stands at $101 billion, and a replenishment of its concessional lending window, the Fund for Special Operations.
