In its second edition, the call for proposals will be open from March 4th to May 17th, 2019. The Superheroes of Development Award will recognize executing agencies of IDB-financed projects that have successfully addressed challenges during its implementation. The contest will identify eight finalists from across Latin America and the Caribbean who will travel to IDB’s Headquarters in Washington, D.C. to present their solutions.

Miami Dade College (MDC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will host Demand Solutions Miami on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami. Eighteen startups in design, fashion, gastronomy, music and multimedia have been selected to participate in a one-of-a-kind conference that will highlight innovation and entrepreneurship that improves lives.

More than 132.000 people will benefit from a program the Inter-American Development Bank, the Pan American Health Organization and the Sabin Institute signed with the State of Chiapas to combat some of the worst infectious diseases. The Chiapas State Government will fight tropical diseases such as trachoma and helminthiasis with $312.000 donated by the institutions and their local counterpart. FEMSA Foundation has joined this effort and also donated $137.520 to the State of Chiapas.
