The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) announced today the inclusion of Global Bank Corporation, Panama as Issuing and Confirming Bank into its Trade Finance Facilitation Program (TFFP). Under the TFFP, the IDB extends guarantees to cover documentary and stand-by letters of credit, promissory notes and other instruments used in the financing of international trade transactions. IDB issues first TFFP guarantee in Panama for Banco Aliado, S.A.

The Structured and Corporate Finance Department of the Inter-American Development Bank closed the first transaction in Panama under its Trade Finance Facilitation Program (TFFP) with Banco Aliado, S.A. Under this transaction, the IDB has extended its partial credit guarantee to cover a import letter of credit of roughly US$3.9 million, facilitating the import of tubes and chassis from South Korea to the Dominican Republic.
