The singer Shakira, founder of the ALAS foundation and recognized for her activism in the promotion of early childhood development, is collaborating with the President of the Inter-American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno, to promote quality early childhood development through the 4th annual ALAS-IDB award.
In the fourth edition of the contest, they are seeking to identify experiences that offer superior services and ideas that can be replicated throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. These awards are given for the following categories: Best Center, Best Educator, Best Children’s Story, and Best Innovation.
The ALAS-IDB award has inspired a high level of interest in the region regarding early childhood development. In last year’s contest, more than 1,200 nominations were considered for the award. In this edition, the IDB and the ALAS Foundation are once again launching the search for innovations and practices of excellence that push forward the development of early childhood education.
