IDB Annual Meeting agenda highlights - March 30

Second and last day of official sessions of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank, at the Plaza Mayor Convention Center. Representatives of the 48 member-countries are discussing during the two-day meeting the economic situation of Latin America and the Caribbean and ways the IDB can increase support to the region. In the evening, after the closing session, a socio-cultural event with artist Carlinhos Brown will take place at the Metropolitan Theater.

Expodesarrollo 2009
An exposition of economic and social development projects sponsored by Colombian public and private sector institutions, Expodesarrollo (www.expodesarrollo.com) seeks to foster partnerships with local and foreign investors. (Pabellón Amarillo, Plaza Mayor Convention Center)

Modelo Medellín

The Office of the Mayor of Medellín sponsors an exhibit on the urban, economic and social transformation of this city, a turnaround that is seen as a model for other Latin American and Caribbean cities. (Convention Center premises)

Medellín: Fifty Years, Fifty Works

The exhibition featuring art from Latin America and the Caribbean is held March 16–May 17 at the Museum of Antioquia. With 50 outstanding 20th century works of art from the collections of the IDB and the Art Museum of the Americas of the Organization of American States, the exhibit includes artists such as Joaquín Torres García, Emilio Pettoruti, Pedro Figari, Roberto Matta and Wilfredo Lam.

*Various signing ceremonies of loans and agreements will be held during the day. These events are closed to the public.
