The 50th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank and the 24th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Investment Corporation will be held in Medellín, Colombia, from March 27-31, 2009, to examine economic issues in the region.
The Boards of Governors are the highest authorities of the IDB and the IIC. Their members are finance or economic affairs ministers, presidents of central banks or other high-ranking officials from the organizations’ member countries, including for the first time China.
The plenary sessions of the Boards of Governors will take place on March 29 and 30 and will be preceded by a series of seminars and activities on technology, economic crisis and poverty reduction.
The Medellín Annual Meeting is expected to tackle some of the biggest development challenges that have arisen from the economical difficulties.
