For the first time, Latin American and Caribbean Carbon Forum to be held in the Caribbean

Members of the media are invited to save the date of the 5th Latin American and Caribbean Carbon Forum which will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from October 13 to 15.

The Latin American and Caribbean Carbon Forum is the leading conference and trade fair for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and carbon finance in the region. This year, it will take place for the first time in the Caribbean. There are vast opportunities for Latin American and Caribbean countries to increase their participation in this multimillion dollar market, which the forum will identify and advance.

It is co-organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the government of the Dominican Republic, the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), the World Bank Institute (WBI), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the UNEP Risoe Centre.

At the forum, project owners and developers, national CDM offices, Investment Promotion Agencies, Designated National Authorities (DNAs), service providers, intermediary companies, NGOs, development banks, UN agencies and investors will share their experiences and best practices. They will identify and facilitate business opportunities between CERs buyers and sellers from the region.
