The president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Inter-American Investment Corporation, Luis Alberto Moreno; the Governor of Quintana Roo, Mexico, Félix González Canto; and various personalities from the business, arts and sports world will participate in an event for youth in the Leona Vicario community. The initiative aims to show how sports and culture serve as a tool for youth development and to highlight their contributions through community service.
The goal of this event is to emphasize how sports can help youth to improve self-esteem, employability and teamwork. Furthermore, it promotes conflict resolution, violence prevention and social inclusion at the community level.
Participants will visit the community and take part in a series of activities. These include the inauguration of a sports facilities, with a baseball field and futsal (indoor soccer), basketball and volleyball courts; the laying of the foundation stone of the future House of Culture, the ribbon cutting of a renovated library; a cultural and gastronomic fair; and a brief artistic presentation of Colombian singer Fonseca.
