Sometimes, complainants may fear reprisals for filing a complaint or expressing their opposition to a project. MICI has a zero tolerance policy for any reprisals against complainants, their families or associates, or organizations or persons assisting them with their complaint. MICI carries out regular analyses to identify any risks and takes all possible measures to prevent them, such as ensuring confidentiality and protecting complainants’ identity at all times.

To learn more about how we address the risk of reprisals, please refer to our guidelines and the Guide for Independent Accountability Mechanisms prepared by MICI.
