MICI Invites Input on External Consultative Group
The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) of the Inter-American Development Bank Group has begun a participatory process to consult on a proposal to establish an external consultative group. The objective of the External Consultative Group (GCE – acronym in Spanish) would be to support MICI’s commitment for delivering its accountability mandate in a credible, effective, and transparent fashion.
The proposed group would be multi-stakeholder and include participants from key constituents such as accountability experts, civil society representatives, IDB staff, and members from other international accountability mechanisms (IAMs). For more information on the background, principles of engagement, membership criteria, structure, and next steps please see our Concept Note.
We welcome your comments and suggestions on this proposal, which we will carefully consider. A summary note with the results of this consultation process will be distributed by email and posted on the MICI website by the end of August. We will then finalize the Operational Guidelines and initiated the selection process for the members of the GCE in September through an ample and transparent process. Please send any comments or suggestions you may have by July 30 to Rodrigo Gomez of MICI via email: rodrigogo@iadb.org.
