Nelson De Jesus Guerra on behalf of more than two thousand people from the municipalities of Amalfi, Anorí, Guadalupe, Gomez Plata and several surrounding villages.
Summary of the Request
The Request alleged that the project has generated a negative impact on the lives of the inhabitants of the region, due to the conditions of the involuntary resettlement, which have generated a serious impoverishment of the community and has denied their basic rights. The Requesters alleged that villagers were violently displaced by the use of force and, in contravention with the IDB guidelines, they are currently living in absolute poverty and they have lost everything they had in the region.
Recent actions
On February 23rd, 2016, the Request was declared ineligible due to the application of exclusion 19 (f) of the ICIM Policy (MI-47-3), associated to Request that are filed more than 24 months after the last disbursement of the relevant Bank-Financed Operation.
Past actions
On January 22nd, 2016,at the end of the 21 business day time period (paragraph 21 of the MICI Policy), Management sent its Response to the Request.
On December 18th, 2015, the Request was registered once the information requested was received; notifications were sent to the Requesters and Bank Management.
On December 3rd, 2015, the MICI granted 10 business days to the Requesters to submit additional information required for the processing of the Request (paragraph 20 of the MICI Policy),which was received immediately.
